My First Day at Big School
My First Day at Big School
Wednesday September 6th
I am 4 years and 9 months old and I started proper
school today. I had a lot of
clothes to put on and it’s hard doing up my shirt
buttons but Janice always says,
‘Practice
makes perfect.’
I
facetimed Daddy to show him my uniform and he said, ‘Who cut your hair?’
then I
facetimed Bethan and she said, ‘Oh, wow! You look so smart, so grown-
up.’
Barry
took photos of me in my school uniform then Mummy and Janice took
me to school.
It was very exciting. Lots of mummies and daddies were there and
lots of people
took photos. I
had lots more photos taken with Austin. He's new
to my school but we've
had a couple of play dates and I'm going to look after
him.
Some of the children
cried. I didn’t.
When the bell rang we
all lined up in front of our teachers and said our school
prayer and went into school.
I had to put my book bag
in the box and my blazer and cap on my peg. There’s
a basket for my plimsolls
and a special place for my wellington boots. My name
is everywhere!
All the children look
different in their school uniform. We all
look very smart
but our clothes are quite big. I knew lots of the children from
pre-school but
some children have come from other pre-schools.
My teachers are nice but
there are only two of them in my classroom. There
were lots in pre-school!
I stayed for tea at
school. I had a sandwich and I made a friend who likes cars but
I don’t know
his name. He’s not in my class. Janice picked me up because
Mummy had to go to
work. I had a good day but I was tired.
